Hi!
I need a pair of speakers for sound therapy (for oversensitive hearing). I am looking for a flat or near-flat frequency response curve or something that I can equalize out. The other acoustic properties, like transient response don't matter since there will be continuous noise played back.
Durability: I need it to last about 3-5 years with 6 hour daily use. The sound level will be similar to the background noise which is traffic noise through a window, and it will be raised slowly about 34 decibels from there.
Budget: You tell me... Suggest speakers from multiple price ranges if you think it is appropriate.
My listening opportunities are limited. I would prefer buying mainly based on measurements.
For More Details:
Hello, Is this for a Home/Office/Business or Vehicle? I am a HUGE fan of Polk Audio, I have been a fan since the late 80's. Vehicle or home. Polk Audio's DB and MM Series car speakers, in my opinion, are the Best Value car speakers. DB Series on a budget and MM Series for the enthusiast.
Home speakers I will also recommend Polk Audio. Their monitor Series are a GREAT value. Speaker placement has a huge effect on sound, whether it be frequency response or sound stage.
The thing about speaker recommendations is, everyone "hears" differently. So, as far as sound quality goes, "the best" is subjective. One person may like their music with a lot of highs, while another person may like more bass. In my experience, Polk Audio makes speakers with a very flat frequency response. Other good brands out there are,........ to name a few, Infinity, JBL and Definitive Technology. Budget will have a huge effect on what brand/model speakers to get.
Hopes this helps. Have a great day.
